![]() In term 2, Year 10s study a unit, generally described as "Building a Modern Australia", looking at post-World War 2 society. I generally break this unit in half; starting with Berlin Wall and the division of Germany, the formation of the United Nations, and finishing with the Vietnam War. This is the half of the unit that I have already created display for. The second half looks at rights and freedoms for First Nations People, migrants, and women since World War 2. This unit is still to be taught (all prepped to go!) and the display is still to be made.

![]() Another term, another display up! I popped in during the holidays for one day this time (normally, I try to do 2-3 days to smash out some work - AKA photocopying - without the students there) and I used it to swap over a display, file some paperwork, and set up a seating plan for my Year 10 English class. It wasn't much (in the scheme of what I usually try to achieve) but I'm happy with what I did do.
On Monday last week, I decided it was time to make my classroom pretty again! I love being able to make my space welcoming and inviting for all students who enter through the classroom doors. I still have quite a few displays to go up, as they needed to be printed, laminated, and velcroed.
And just like that, my classroom is all packed up! While I love going back to a bare slate and getting ready to start anew, it's also sad to see it so empty! I'm ready to rest and relax and I'm glad for past me who started to take displays down as my classes finished up. Made it through the school year, and I can't wait for a break before starting it all again next year. Everything comes to an end! I'm not sure how I feel about the Year 12's finishing up. In part I'm glad that they are moving on to their new adventures and I'm proud of what they have all achieved; however, I am not used to being a "class down" during Week 5 of Term 4. It's a really odd feeling!
Taking down the display in my Media Studies classroom was bittersweet but I'm forever grateful for being given the opportunity to teach outside of my comfort zone with a group of students who were willing to learn alongside me! Now, onwards to Graduation next week! What started as two of us getting sick of being asked "is Hitler part of WW1?" and various other questions (and repeating the outline several times) turned into me creating subject posters for each of the subjects that we either teach, have the potential to teach, or currently teach. They took a while and did end up on the back burner while Stage 2 Media Studies was wrapped up but I am so glad that they are finally done! ** Post will be updated with the PDF's. ![]()

I think I said that my last lot of displays would be it ... well, they've been added to. I've added some key terms that are featured in both of the current units as well as printed and laminated an alternative title for "Natural Disasters" - "Hazards" instead.
Now, do I **finally** think my class will remain until its time to take it down? Yeah, I think this is it! |
