And just like that, my classroom is all packed up! While I love going back to a bare slate and getting ready to start anew, it's also sad to see it so empty! I'm ready to rest and relax and I'm glad for past me who started to take displays down as my classes finished up. Made it through the school year, and I can't wait for a break before starting it all again next year. It was a surprise (and honour) to get an email to say that I was a winner in the AATE "60 words on film" competition. I won 'Listening from the Heart' and used the voucher to purchase the other three books.
I can't wait to use them in my classes and units. This was a lovely night to celebrate with my Home Group, which I've had for 3 years, taught some of them for 4 years. It was also a slightly emotional night to see them all officially leaving high school behind and going off on their respective pathways. This is my first Home Group to graduation that I have had. And these students have taught me a lot over the years. I've admired each of them for persevering with their journeys through high school and onto their future. Being able to read their names out and watch them walk across the stage, meant the world to me. |
