It's taking shape! I'm so happy with how my classroom has come on with my different displays.
My Year 10 Geography Coasts unit is up with tourism to go up next (got to add a few more to the collection there!). My Stage 1 Geography unit is nearly ready for change over but the next one isn't ready (not sure if I'll get Megacities up this time). New TEEAL displays to help all of our students write paragraphs that are cohesive and make sense - any non-teacher would be surprised with how off track they can get! I've been able to sort my card games out so I don't have to go back and re-package them into their boxes after use. Other admin-display stuff includes subject labels and posters to allow students to see what is expected of them when they get tasks (formative or summative) that ask them to "explain" or "analyse".

Well, I've had my first conference thus year and now my first National Conference! It was a day that ended with one very overloaded (and slightly overwhelmed) brain but it was oh, so worth it.\n I learnt a lot of different aspects of pedagogy, text selection, and just simply teaching one of the subjects I love. It's renewed my passion for English and I hope to make it to Hobart next year! ![]()

Well, that time of year is done! Nearly 300 students levelled across Years 7-12, countless sleepless nights and much coffee/sweets/vice of choice consumed. I've popped up a PowerPoint that I shared that outlined the process and the WHY of us undertaking the levelling. It's basic, with staff members blurred out for privacy but it got a lot of samples in and I'm happy for it! The next steps are to review our process at the Year 7-12 level and (hopefully) undertake Train the Trainer Professional Development. ![]()
Formal this year was special. This group of students is my first Home Group that I'll have graduate in my career. While I'll save the trip down memory lane until gradation day, I was so proud to be able to see these kids dressed up in their finery and have a ball. The memories made were and always will be special.
